Peter J. Dernbach has substantial experience in the fields of intellectual property, competition and corporate law. He has advised worldwide leaders in the food, snack food, pet care, hi-technology and travel and leisure industries on the acquisition and protection of trademark rights and copyrights in Taiwan and around the world. His practice includes assisting foreign and local clients in obtaining, enforcing and licensing their intellectual property rights.
Prior to joining Winkler Partners, Peter practiced law in Washington, D.C. at Arent Fox Kintner Plotkin & Kahn, PLLC, where he was an associate in the firm's Technology Department specializing in intellectual property law. Formerly, he worked as an associate at Qi Lin International Law Offices in Taipei where he focused on intellectual property and corporate transactions.
Peter obtained his bachelor's degree in international affairs from The George Washington University, and received his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law. Peter was also awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to study at the National University of Singapore. He is a member of the bars of California and the District of Columbia and is registered as an Attorney of Foreign Legal Affairs with Taiwan's Ministry of Justice. Peter is also active in both the American Chamber of Commerce Taipei and the European Chamber of Commerce Taipei.
